A quinta in Lomba, at the Douro riverbanks, with houses hidden in the forest up the hill and a beautiful open view in front. Where tradition meets nature and colour. A wonderful place that makes you stay outside until late.
Porto airport is the closest one, with a direct metro connection to Porto city centre. There are direct flights from Brussels and from Treviso.
If you end up flying to Lisbon instead, the train north is easy. Direct trains run from Lisboa Oriente or Santa Apolónia to Porto Campanhã in about three hours, several times a day.
To make sure that everybody easily reaches the wedding location, we are still doing some research for organising transportation. As soon as possible we will give some updates about this.
If you like nature, the villages near the wedding location are a great opportunity. If you do not want to miss the city vibe, Porto has beautiful areas everywhere.
If you are very curious and already want to start looking for accommodation, let us know for any “local” recommendations and we can check the fit with our transportation plan.
We are also looking for cheap local car rental options and will share more information as soon as we have it. If you find something good before we do, let us know and we can share it with everyone.
Three nights before the wedding, Porto celebrates São João. The whole city comes outside on the streets. People cheer together, grill sardines, fire up paper balloons to lighten the sky. You’ll be greeted with plastic squeaky hammers hitting your head, and you’ll be doing it too, trust us! At midnight, enjoy the most beautiful fireworks over the river, to then dance until the sun comes up.
